Students Applying for Rice IBB Program

Students are currently applying to Rice IBB program for high school students at Science Academy.  I had to fill out a couple of teacher recommendation forms for some students and turn in to the coordinator, Mr. Montague.  I found out that students will be attending the first day I start.  I guess we will be learning about Rice together  :-)

Setting Up

Just my initial entry to get the blog set up so its ready to go when I begin the RET program at Rice.  I am very excited to have been accepted and looking forward to this program.  I am especially excited since this will deal with biochemistry and hoping it helps me with the new Chemistry 3 class I will be offering at Science Academy.

Background :

This internship is a program involving participation in on-going research work in a science laboratory at Rice University and also assistance with IBB’s High SchoolSummer Academy.  After this internship, the high school teacher is expected to be able to develop new science curricula that may be implemented in their high school courses and keep IBB informed of their progress towards this end.
